Simple Present Tense of "To Be" in Gujarati

In English, the verb “to Be” has special significance. Its different forms are used along with other verbs to indicate tense. The same is the case in Gujarati.

“To Be” in English is 
હોવું
 (“hovuM”) in Gujarati.
In English “am”, ”are” and ”is” are different forms of “to be” for different pronouns. 
Similarly in Gujarati there are different forms of હોવું
 (“hovuM”) for different pronouns. The below chart shows has the details.

છો  (Cho)
He/She/It/This/That  


is
આ/એ/તે  (A/e/te)
છે  (Che)
They / Those
(m./f/n.)
are


  તેઓ/ એ  (teo /e)
છે  (Che)


So sentence can be formed as :- 
I am :- હું છું  (huM ChuM)
You(plural) are :- તમે છો  (tame Cho)
They are :- તેઓ છે  (teo Che)
We are :- અમે/આપણે છીએ  (ame/ApaNe ChIe)

  6. Hey Kaushik,

    I saw a discrepancy in the "we are" conjugation. This post says (ChIe) while the YouTube video says (Chie). Is there much of a difference between these two vowels in the language?

      Actually long after completing videos I realized my spelling mistake. So I updated blog but can not edit video.

      Sorry for confusion.
